The Collections Manager is an extended version of the Collections Viewer. In addition to viewing collection boundaries, it allows editing of the header data associated with collections and related surveys. These extensions are only enabled when your OCRIS licence includes data administration privileges.
The Collections Viewer is documented later. Please see that section for a description of the basic functionality.
The main menu of the Collections Manager includes a toolbutton that provides access to the process that refreshes dynamic site links.
This process updates the links between collections and sites by finding all sites that are located within any given collection outline. The process can also be executed via the GIS subsystem menu. See xxx for a discussion of this function.
The Collections Manager also has some additional menus associated with the collection, survey and polygon data frames.
Modifying and deleting collection data
Use the Edit toolbutton on the collections menu to view or modify the data associated with individual collections.
The data fields appearing in the editor will depend on the configuration of the OCRIS data domain that is linked to the collections data for the current collection type.
Individual field values are either entered directly into the fields editor, or selected from the dropdown list in cases where the field is linked to a code lookup table.
Click Delete Collection to delete the selected collection and all related data from the database.
Take careful note of the context in which the deletion will take place. As a precaution, a dialog with additional information will be displayed in order to allow you to confirm or cancel the delete action.
This dialog also displays the names of the domains used for the collection data and survey data pertinent to the selected collection type. In this example, the names of these domains are ialProspect and ialCollectionSurvey respectively.
Modifying and Deleting Survey Data
The menu on the Surveys tab of the Collections Details frame provides similar Edit and Delete Survey toolbuttons.
Click Edit to view or modify the survey header data. In this case, the data fields appearing in the editor will depend on the configuration of the OCRIS data domain that is linked to the survey data for the current collection type.
Click Delete Survey to delete the selected survey and all polygons linked to that survey from the database.
Take careful note of the context in which the deletion will take place. As a precaution, a dialog with additional information will be displayed in order to allow you to confirm or cancel the delete action.
This dialog also displays the name of the domain used for the survey data pertinent to the selected collection type. In this example, the name of the domain is ialCollectionSurvey.
