A command line object is simply a shortcut that points to a disk file, program or website.
In the OCRIS Database Toolbox, this type of shortcut is configured as a User Interface Object.
- Click the Add item toolbutton to create a new shortcut.
- Use the Copy and Paste toolbuttons to make a copy of an existing shortcut as a template for a new shortcut.
- Click Delete item to delete the selected shortcut.
- Click Properties to modify an existing shortcut.
The target for the shortcut can be a program, file or website.
- If the target is a program (executable), it will be opened with the command line arguments as specified.
- If the target is a file, it will be opened with the associated application (based on the file extension).
- If the target is a URL, it will be opened in your default web browser.
It is also possible to configure the system to prompt for the file name at execution time. When enabling this option, be sure to enter a suitable filter name and filter mask to use for the file open dialog when running the process from the Command Line Objects menu.
