MapInfo® Codes

MapInfo is a popular desktop GIS application distributed by Pitney Bowes. The OCRIS GIS subsystem supports importing of outlines (e.g. tenement boundaries) from files in the MapInfo Interchange Format (MIF). Some of the metadata contained in these files use MapInfo naming conventions; therefore, the standard OCRIS database includes reference tables that are used to facilitate the processing of the MapInfo metadata during import.
